With snow falling here and there and snow-making operations in effect at the highest-elevation resorts, local resorts are projecting opening days sooner rather than later. Mt. Rose is the earliest, with a projected opening day of October 25. That’s only a week away! The rest of our local resorts are shooting for mid to late November. It seems like just yesterday we were longing for snow. Well, we got it. In record amounts. February broke the record for the most snowfall in a single month, leaving North Lake Tahoe resorts awash in powder. The good news for boarders and skiers is that the resorts are extending their seasons to take advantage of these record-breaking conditions.
